Visiting Our Wylie Dental Office
What should I expect at my first dental appointment?
Your first visit to Trusted Dental Care is a get-to-know-you appointment. You’ll be welcomed by our team, taken on a brief tour of the office, and then sit down with Dr. G for a comprehensive exam. He’ll review your dental and medical history, take any necessary X-rays, assess your gum health, screen for oral cancer, and talk through any concerns you have. There’s no pressure and no judgment, just an honest look at where your smile stands and a clear plan for moving forward.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a valid photo ID, your dental insurance card (if you have one), a list of any medications you’re currently taking, and any recent dental X-rays if you have them. You can also complete your new patient forms online before you arrive to save time.
Are you currently accepting new patients in Wylie?
Yes, at Trusted Dental Care, we welcome new patients of all ages and are accepting families, individuals, and patients transferring from other practices. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday, 8 am–5 pm, and Friday, 8 am–1 pm. You can book online or call (214) 702-0446.
Insurance, Financing, and Costs
Do you accept dental insurance?
Yes, Trusted Dental Care is in-network with most major PPO dental insurance plans. Our team will verify your benefits before your appointment, walk you through what’s covered, and handle all insurance filing on your behalf. We want to make sure you get the maximum value out of your plan. If you’re unsure whether we accept your specific plan, give us a call, and we’ll check for you.
What if I don’t have dental insurance?
We have several options for uninsured patients. Our in-house Membership Plan provides coverage for routine care at a flat annual fee, no deductibles, no waiting periods, no surprise bills. We also work with CareCredit and other financing partners so you can break larger treatment costs into manageable monthly payments. No one should skip dental care because of cost concerns; we’ll help you find a path that works.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, through CareCredit and other financing options, we can spread the cost of treatment across monthly payments, often with low or no interest for qualified patients. Ask our front desk team about current financing offers when you call or come in.
Dental Emergencies
Do you see dental emergencies?
Yes, we accept emergency dental patients. If you’re dealing with a severe toothache, a broken or knocked-out tooth, a lost crown, a dental abscess, or any other urgent situation, call our emergency dentist right away at (214) 702-0446. Dr. G makes every effort to see emergency patients the same day they call. Don’t wait, as dental emergencies that go untreated can worsen quickly and become far more costly to fix.
What counts as a dental emergency?
A dental emergency is any situation causing significant pain, swelling, bleeding, or that puts a tooth at risk. Common emergencies include:
- A severe toothache or abscess
- A cracked or broken tooth
- A knocked-out tooth
- A lost filling or crown that’s causing pain
- Soft tissue injuries to the gums or lips
- Swelling in the jaw or face
When in doubt, call us! We’d rather hear from you and put your mind at ease than have you suffer at home.
Dental Treatments
I’m missing teeth. What are my options?
We offer several tooth replacement options depending on how many teeth are missing and what works best for your health and budget:
- Dental Implants: The gold standard for tooth replacement. A titanium post is placed in the jawbone and topped with a lifelike crown, giving you a replacement tooth that looks, feels, and functions just like the real thing. Implants are designed to last a lifetime with proper care.
- All-on-4® Dental Implants: A full arch of teeth supported by just four strategically placed implants. Ideal for patients who are missing all or most of their teeth and want a permanent, non-removable solution.
- Dental Bridges: A fixed restoration that spans the gap left by one or more missing teeth, anchored to the surrounding natural teeth.
- Dentures: Full or partial removable dentures are a time-tested and affordable option for patients missing multiple teeth.
I want to improve the way my smile looks. Can you help?
Yes, Dr. G offers a full range of cosmetic services designed to address common aesthetic concerns and help your smile look its best, including:
- Professional Teeth Whitening: Take-home or in-office options that deliver results far beyond what store-bought strips can achieve.
- Porcelain Veneers: Ultra-thin shells bonded to the front of teeth to correct discoloration, chips, gaps, or uneven shape.
- Dental Bonding & Contouring: A quick, affordable way to repair minor chips, gaps, and irregularities.
- Smile Makeover: A customized combination of treatments designed to give you a completely transformed smile.
I want a straighter smile, but don’t want metal braces. Is there another option?
Yes, Invisalign® Clear Aligners are a highly effective alternative to traditional braces for teens and adults. Instead of brackets and wires, you’ll wear a series of custom-made, virtually invisible plastic aligners that gradually shift your teeth into place. Aligners are removable, so you can eat and drink whatever you like and brush your teeth normally. Most patients complete treatment in 12 to 18 months.
My gums bleed when I brush and floss. Should I be worried?
Bleeding gums are not normal and should never be brushed off as “just sensitive gums.” In most cases, bleeding is an early sign of gum disease (gingivitis or periodontitis), a bacterial infection that affects the tissue and bone supporting your teeth. Left untreated, gum disease can lead to tooth loss and has been linked to serious systemic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. If you regularly see blood when you brush or floss, schedule a checkup with Dr. G as soon as possible. Caught early, gum disease is very manageable.
I get very anxious at the dentist. Can you help me relax?
Absolutely. We understand that dental anxiety is real and very common, and you’re not alone. Trusted Dental Care offers sedation dentistry options designed to help even the most nervous patients feel calm and comfortable during their appointment. Whether you experience mild nervousness or significant fear, we’ll work with you to find the right level of sedation so you can get the care you need without dread. Let our team know about your concerns when you book; we want to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
Oral Health at Home
How can I best care for my teeth between visits?
The basics go a long way:
- Brush at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste,
- Floss once daily (ideally at night)
- Limit sugary snacks and acidic beverages.
- Replace your toothbrush every three to four months or sooner if the bristles are frayed.
- If you grind your teeth, wear a nightguard.
- Keep your regular six-month appointments. Many problems are painless in the early stages and only show up at a professional exam.
If you have specific concerns about your home routine, Dr. G is happy to give personalized guidance at your next visit.
