Technology Is Only as Good as the Training Behind It
Almost every dental office in Wylie has digital X-rays. What makes the difference is the dentist reading those images and planning your care. Dr. G has completed more than 1,300 hours of continuing education in the last five years alone, including:
- Resnik Implant Institute and Pikos Institute. Advanced implant training, so your 3D scan becomes a precise surgical plan instead of just a picture.
- The Kois Center and The Dawson Academy. Evidence-based, comprehensive dentistry. Your bite, joints, and gums are evaluated together, so crowns, veneers, and reconstructions last.
- Fellowship, Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). Fewer than 10% of general dentists earn this. It requires 500+ hours of continuing education and a comprehensive exam.
- DEKA Laser certification. Formal training in laser dentistry, so laser treatments are done safely and effectively.
Dr. G was trained as an electrical engineer and worked at Motorola before dentistry, so he has always been drawn to technology. He only brings a new tool into the office when it makes your care better, not because it’s new.

3D Cone Beam Imaging: See the Whole Picture Before Treatment
A regular X-ray is flat. A cone beam CT scan shows your teeth, jawbone, nerves, and sinuses in three dimensions. For dental implants, that means Dr. G can measure bone height and width, find the nerve, and plan the exact position and angle of each implant before your procedure day. It’s the single biggest reason implant surgery today is more predictable than it was a generation ago.
Digital X-Rays and Intraoral Cameras: Faster, Clearer, Less Radiation
Digital X-rays appear on screen in seconds and use significantly less radiation than traditional film. Our intraoral cameras show you close-up images of your own teeth, such as a crack, worn fillings, or early gum changes. You’ll understand why a treatment is recommended, and you’ll never be asked to take our word for it.
Digital Impressions: No More Impression Trays
If you’ve ever gagged on a tray of impression material, you’ll appreciate this one. A small handheld scanner captures a 3D model of your teeth in a few minutes. We use digital impressions to plan Invisalign® treatment and to design crowns and porcelain veneers that fit precisely.
CEREC® Same-Day Crowns
A traditional crown means a temporary crown and a second appointment a few weeks later. With CEREC, your crown is designed on screen and made from a solid ceramic block in our office, often while you wait. That means less time off work and no temporary crown to worry about.
Laser Dentistry
Trusted Dental Care uses two types of dental lasers, each for different jobs:
- DEKA laser: used for laser gum disease treatment, periodontal maintenance, and crown lengthening and gum contouring.
- BIOLASE diode laser: used for precise soft-tissue procedures that often need little or no anesthetic.
Laser treatment usually means less bleeding and swelling, a lower risk of infection, and a faster return to normal eating than traditional gum surgery.
Sedation Options for Anxious Patients
Advanced care also means comfortable care. If the dentist has felt scary in the past, you’re not alone. We offer nitrous oxide and IV sedation, so you can get the care you need in a calm, relaxed state.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a 3D scan to get a dental implant?
For most implant cases, yes, and it’s a question worth asking any office you’re considering. A 3D scan shows bone volume and nerve position that a regular X-ray can’t, which lets Dr. G plan the implant’s exact size, position, and angle before your procedure.
Does laser gum treatment hurt?
Most people are surprised by how comfortable it is. Lasers seal tissue as they work, so there’s typically less bleeding, swelling, and soreness than with traditional gum surgery. We’ll make sure you’re numb and comfortable, and sedation is available if you’re anxious.
Can I really get a crown in one day?
In many cases, yes. With CEREC, your crown is designed and made in our office during your visit. Some situations, like certain materials or complex bite cases, still call for a lab-made crown. Dr. G will tell you which is best for your tooth.
